Safety cannot be answered categorically before the product and process are defined.

Chemical identity matters, but it is not the whole safety or regulatory question. A specific output, manufacturing route, impurity profile, intended use, specification, and evidence package must be evaluated together.

What would need to be demonstrated

  1. Molecular identity of the intended output
  2. Source-gas origin, contaminants, and conditioning
  3. Process-derived impurities and removal steps
  4. Downstream purification and food-grade specifications
  5. Batch consistency and analytical method qualification
  6. Hazard analysis, toxicology, and exposure where applicable
  7. Intended use and expected consumption
  8. Shelf-life and stability logic
  9. Applicable regulatory pathway
  10. Eden-specific measured evidence and independent review

Current Eden status: no Eden output is publicly claimed to be food-grade, safe for consumption, or regulatorily cleared. The smallest useful next step is to qualify a partner-run direct CO₂/H₂ fermentation campaign, then produce and independently characterize one protein-rich research lot.
